Today, Brindil has been waiting patiently outside the Arco Community Library as I blog, blog, blog, blah, blah, blah... Time for a walk. Maybe down to Pickles...
At pre-beers* at the DK Motel this afternoon , I met Angie, an adoptee from Kazakistan. Her English speaking was quite impressive, given that she had been in the USA only one year. I didn't offer her any pre-beer*, but she sampled the chips.
*The pre-beer tradition was introduced to me by Dan Johnson, during travels in 1997 in Argentina, while with our wives, we explored much of Patagonia and the Falkland Islands. Basiclly, it is the tip-em-back beers that one needs to prepare oneself for what is termed "Happy Hour"in the northern hemisphere. You know, an excuse for a mid-afternoon brew. Tragiclly, we lost Dan 3 years ago, but pre-beers and countless others of his anecdotes and truisms still live on. I proudly wear his shirt on my cross-country trip. Cheers to you, my fellow road warrior!!!!!

If you haven't tried this, next time you get to a city with a bike shop, check out the Hammer nutrition powder products. Several of them have caffine and don't give you gastro problems:) They saved our bacon on our long distance bike trip.
